Here's what's happening in 2nd grade

We're learning a lot of new things this week!

In MATH we're learning about identifying positions (first, second, third), adding 2 to a number, and creating/reading repeating patterns. We have a short math test on Thursday, 10/3 and we'll do a practice test in class on Wednesday.

In SPELLING, our words are: talked, talking, dropped, dropping, excited, exciting, lifted, lifting, hugged, hugging, smiled, smiling. Our challenge words are: dragging, amazed, danced. Our test is Thursday afternoon (due to our Friday field trip).

In WRITING we're learning about author's purpose, and writing persuasive letters in our journals.

In GRAMMAR we're learning about joining sentences using "and" or "but".

In READING we're talking about the five W's of fiction: who, what, when, where, and why.

In RELIGION, we're studying how the Catholic church teaches us to live.

In SCIENCE, we're finishing up the water cycle.

In SOCIAL STUDIES, we're looking at important people in history.

Whew! After all that studying, we'll be ready for a fun field trip to Green Meadows Farm on Friday!
